❄️January 13 UC Weekly☃️

The remainder of Mulhaul-Orlando Tournament has been canceled by hosting site due to hazardous road conditions for the traveling teams impacted.

As predicted the high winds and snow are expected to continue throughout the night and into tomorrow morning causing roads to continue to deteriorate. UCPS will transition to a virtual day for Friday, January 10th. All activities for tomorrow are canceled. The Mulhaul-Orlando Tournament games will pick back up on Saturday, January 11th. Times will be announced as soon as we have them. In the meantime, enjoy the beautiful snow - stay safe and warm. 💙🐯💙

As inclement weather has officially arrived, roads have begun to deteriorate and are expected to continue throughout the afternoon and evening hours. We will begin dismissing school at 12:30 with busses running at 12:45. Parents may check students out at any time without penalty. Please be prepared for a virtual day tomorrow IF weather conditions continue to worsen as expected. Tonight's activities are canceled. We will keep you updated as new information becomes available. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we are forced to pivot for safety purposes.

As the inclement weather projected to move in today is coming slower than expected our plan is to carry on 'business as usual'. However, safety remains our number one priority. Please be prepared for alternate arrangements later in the afternoon IF safety becomes an issue and busses need to run early for dismissal. We will not risk our students safety. If roads begin to deteriorate students will not be penalized for weather related absences. As always, if you have concerns or circumstances that make you uncomfortable please do what is best for your child and family. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we try to balance the needs of ALL the students and faculty. 💙🐯💙

Here are the basketball brackets for the high school Mulhall- Orlando
Tournament starting this Thursday.

We will be moving to a VIRTUAL DAY for all students on Jan. 17 due to staff training.

🏀First 2025 UC game tonight at home!

Our teachers returned last Friday and our students return tomorrow to get Semester 2 started! Here's a look at this week.

Kaden Cummings, one of our 2024 Graduates, was in a severe car accident on Christmas Eve. He has suffered a broken spine, collapsed lung, and other injuries.
If you would like to help the Cummings family directly, donations can be sent through
Venmo at: @sugarbear06
(Your support will go directly towards medical trips, home/handicap modifications, vehicle accessibility, or other daily needs.)
Any amount sends love, peace of mind, and hope their way.

Merry Christmas from everyone at Union City School!

CV Tech application deadline is this week for high school students!

🏀🏀The Lady Tigers finished the Binger-Oney Tournament in 3rd place. Congratulations to Lily Russell and Bree Goad for making the all-tournament team!!

UC Families, I have received word from the health department that we have another confirmed case of Whooping cough - bringing the total to five in the last month. It seems to have moved from the intermediate grades down into lower elementary. They recommended that anyone that is experiencing prolonged symptoms make sure the doctor is aware bc although typically rare it is a possibility. As families are planning to come together for the holidays I would hate for any additional and unnecessary exposures to occur - especially with our older and immune compromised family members. I was told that a regime of five days of antibiotics will prevent it from remaining contagious if there is a positive test. I wanted to make sure everyone was aware in time to take preventative measures if needed before Christmas. Please let me know if any additional positive tests are confirmed so we can stay on top of things. We will do a deep clean over the break including the clorox360 machine and removing all pillows or other items that may accumulate those extra germs. Please stay safe, rest up and have a very blessed and Merry Christmas.

🎮Join the Union City Rainbow 6-Siege Team on Twitch, Sunday at 6 pm as they take on #1 Cache for the State Championship. 🔵Let's try to get as many people streaming as possible! https://www.twitch.tv/uc_seige
